Lab Manager - New Amsterdam

Futurist Investments Guyana Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Lab Manager for current and upcoming opportunities supporting Guyana’s oil & gas and industrial projects. Key focus areas include manage laboratory operations, testing, quality and personnel for chemical services. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong safety awareness, technical competence and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day laboratory operations, workload, personnel and testing priorities for chemical-service activities.
• Ensure laboratory methods, sample handling, equipment calibration and QA/QC controls are consistently applied.
• Review technical results, trends and reports before release to field or customer stakeholders.
• Manage chemicals, standards, consumables, equipment maintenance and safe storage requirements.
• Develop staff capability and maintain training, competency and laboratory records.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, waste-management, quality-system and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification/certification: Chemistry/engineering; lab experience.
• Relevant experience: 5+ years.
• Demonstrated capability in Laboratory management, QA/QC, chemical testing.
• Strong understanding of company procedures, quality requirements and safe-work expectations.
• Ability to work at assigned project locations in Guyana and adapt to operational priorities.
• Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills; able to work effectively in a multicultural project environment.
