Futurist Investments Guyana Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Trainee Technician – FPSO Technical Development Program for current and upcoming opportunities supporting Guyana’s oil & gas and industrial projects. Key focus areas include structured technician development for FPSO technical operations. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong safety awareness, technical competence and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in structured technical training and supervised on-the-job development for FPSO/industrial maintenance activities.
- Assist qualified technicians with inspections, preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting tasks.
- Learn safe use of tools, technical drawings, maintenance procedures and permit-to-work controls.
- Complete assigned classroom, practical and competency-development activities.
- Maintain training records, work logs and required assessments.
- Demonstrate strong safety behaviour, willingness to learn and effective teamwork.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification/certification: Technical diploma/degree; relevant safety training.
- Relevant experience: Entry Level / Graduate.
- Demonstrated capability in Mechanical/electrical/instrumentation fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of HSE, permit-to-work and safe-work practices relevant to the assigned role.
- Ability to work at offshore/project locations and meet applicable medical, safety and rotation requirements.
- Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills; able to work effectively in a multicultural project environment.
